FIRE SAFETY ADVICE
Please read this advice carefully – it could help you in the case of a fire.
The owner of the property you have booked is the Responsible Person when it comes to Fire Safety.
They can be reached via The Property Manager at Accommodation Windsor Ltd on 01753 833747 or

Please note that these items are not to be brought into or used in the property:
• Deep-fat fryers
• Candles or tealights (or any device with a naked flame)
• Multiple extension leads that could overload a circuit and cause a fire
These are for the safety of you, your family, visitors and other residents and we reserve the right to
remove such items should they be found in the premises when we visit to clean / inspect as part of
our regular routine. These items are deemed to be the main sources of fire in residential premises
and therefore we ask that you consider the safety of others by not bring these items into the
property.
Please also note that:
• Fire doors should be shut when not in use. We advise closing kitchen, living room and
bedroom doors at night.
• Residents or their guests should not tamper with self-closing devices on fire doors.
• Residents should report any fault with, or damage to, fire doors immediately to the
Responsible Person (see above).
Please take time to review the Fire Action Notice and Escape Map that should be present in your
property (usually near the exit).
Appliances – if you notice a frayed cable or a broken plug, socket or switch or you have
accidentally damaged an appliance or socket please let The Property Manager know
immediately. These items can easily be replaced if faulty and for your safety we would happily
do this as soon as we are made aware. We conduct regular visual inspections of appliances
while cleaning and inspecting properties so these instances will be very rare.
Kitchen Fires
You will find a fire blanket in the kitchen that can be used to smother a fire should one occur.
Please let us know if you have used it so we can replace it. Most fires start in the kitchen so for
safety it is advisable to keep kitchen doors closed.
Please do not prop open fire doors as this will prevent them from doing their job.
Your property will be fitted with smoke alarms. Please read the Fire Action Notice to know what
to do in the event of being notified of a fire.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
